A flow meter interface for SCADA, Telemetry, and Building Automation Systems: The EtherMeter is an industrial protocol translator built to work with encoder-type and pulse-type flow meters -- especially water, gas, and petroleum meters. On the automation side, it communicates using Modbus (RTU/ASCII/TCP), DF1, and EtherNet/IP. On the meter side, it is compatible with water, natural gas, and petroleum meters from Sensus, Neptune, Badger, Itron, Elster-AMCO, Kent, ABB, Hersey, Master Meter, Siemens, plus most pulse-based meters. When the EtherMeter is used with AMR protocol-enabled meters, it eliminates the totalization errors that can plague pulse-based meter-reading techniques. Target applications include water plants, pumping stations, master meter stations, automated buildings, and commercial sub-metering.
